My Little Cupids....

The boys are starting to equate holidays with gifts. I guess it's a normal part of growing up, but I certainly don't want them to lose the meaning of each holiday with their preoccupation with what gifts they will receive.
This year I decided we would do something different.
We came up with a mischievous plan to leave treats at our friend's doorsteps on Valentine's Day. Of course it was a secret so we all put on red "cupid-wear" and sneakers so we could ring the doorbell and run back to the van after delivering the treats.

Gavin's job was to leave the treats and the balloon.

I placed a sign on the door that said they had been "hugged."
Finally, Zach's job was to ring the doorbell before we all ran back to the get-a-way car driven by Sam.

Gabby just cheered us on as we laughed and celebrated after each stop.
We were so proud of ourselves that we made 5 stops and weren't caught.
Fortunately a few of our friends weren't home.

The kids had so much fun and I must admit I did too. I felt like a kid again.
Here's another picture of Daddy's lil Valentine.

I hope you had a wonderful Valentine's Day!

The 100th Day of School and Other Recent Happenings

Gavin's 100th day of school was on Monday so over the weekend we had a family homework assignment to make a special shirt.
Gavin picked out 100 beads and strung them on some ribbon that I sewed to a shirt. Then he picked out his favorite green thread and I embroidered "100" in the center. His final request was a camoflauge hem. It was so much fun creating this together and he wore it with so much pride.

He didn't even want his jacket zipped because he wanted to show all his friends on the bus.

Here's a few other recent favorites....
Gavin waiting for the bus in the garage on a rainy day.

Gavin and Zach's Puppet Show...
It was actually quite entertaining..... it was a production on being nice to each other. Interesting how they know enough on the topic to put on a show, but not enough to exhibit the behavior on a daily basis.

Laura and Zach being silly as usual.

A few pictures of the boys bowling...

A trip to the play area after mall-walking with Amanda and Clarissa
Zach's first night of Taekwondo. He finally made it to the top of the waiting list and has joined Gavin's class. He broke a board with his bare hand on his first night.

I'm still taking just as many pictures as usual. A day rarely passes that I don't take a dozen or more photos. I'm just not putting the time aside to blog quite as often, but I'll try to hit the highlights in my upcoming posts.
