Possible changes in my blog....

I've tried to keep this an open blog, but today I found my blog listed on the internet with identifying data. I'm working on getting my link removed. However, in the event that my efforts aren't successful you may find that my blog has been changed. I'm still debating on whether to change my blog name or change my settings to private.
So in the event that you can't access my blog, please email me. Depending on whether I choose to change my blog address or make it private, I'll either update you with my new blog link or add you to a list of acceptable readers.

I'm going to give it another day or two, but I just wanted to give you a heads up.

Since a posting isn't complete without a picture, I added this picture of Gabby from today.

(I've taken quite a few pictures of her playing at this table lately. It seems to be her favorite place to play these days!)

Weekend Recap

The problem with waiting until Sunday night to blog is trying to remember what we did all weekend. I guess that's what happens after kids... or at least that's my excuse.

Here's a few pictures of Gabby from Friday morning. Other than going to my class at the gym, I can't remember what else we did.

Saturday morning we took the kids to see Wall E. Save your money. It was almost as boring as Happy Feet, but thankfully not as long....(very disappointing.) Zachary's exact words on the way home were "Mommy, that wasn't a very good movie." Eating the popcorn was his favorite part. Gavin's official review was that it was an OK movie. However he only liked the parts when the space ship blasted off.

Afterwards we went for a late lunch. The boys shared a grilled Mahi Mahi sandwich off the regular menu and wanted more. They're getting expensive to feed these days.

When we got home I filled a few dozen water balloons and the kids had a water balloon fight in the front yard.

The balloons were all busted within 10 minutes so they played in the sprinklers while Sam tuned up his motorcycle. Meanwhile I snuck inside to do some embroidery while Gabby napped.

It doesn't take much to entertain preschoolers.

Gabby spends a lot of time in the playroom these days. The challenge is keeping all the small toys out of there.

Finally, here's a picture of Zach displaying his long hair. Until recently he had a buzz cut, but now I'm really not sure what to do with it.

A week's worth of pictures....

I'm a little behind on blogging these days. I thought the summer would allow for more free time, but somehow we still manage to fill our days.
We had some down time last weekend... thanks to a stomach virus. We were stuck inside so Sam helped transform the pool table into a fort.
After we all made it 24 hours without any symptoms, we were able to leave the house again. `
Here are some pictures of the boys wearing what they refer to as their "muscle shirts." Sleeveless shirts aren't exactly my favorite choice for boys, but they absolutely love them. Gavin asks to wear one almost every day and then he continually asks me to feel his muscles. It's very cute. He tells me he's strong because of all the spinach and vegetables that he eats.

Here's a few pictures of Gabby wearing a Gator shirt from her Great Aunt Candy and Uncle Bill. Of course I couldn't wait for Sam to see her wearing it so I emailed him pictures to work. He's a Hurricane fan so you can imagine his remarks.
(She sure looks happy wearing it though!)

This picture of Zachary makes me laugh. He insisted on wearing goggles in our little baby pool.

It was hard to get pictures of Gabby this week. Primarily because she spent a great deal of time in my arms. She's teething and cranky and her poor little gums are so swollen. She still only has 2 teeth, but I imagine she'll have a few more before long.

Tuesday night we went to Kid's night at the mall for dinner and free carousel rides. The kids were angels. I think they were just happy to be out of the house.
The "Cherrio Carb Coma!"
Gabby gets hot easily especially at night when she's sleeping so we've been putting her in onsies at night. I found this one on a clearance rack at Baby Gap. When Gavin found out what it said, he wanted me to embroider him a shirt that said the same thing.
He doesn't understand that it's probably not appropriate for a 5 year old to wear that.

Yesterday I ordered some new Crocs for the boys online. We've tried to purchase them in stores, but they never have the size or color they want.
I found them online cheaper than in stores with free overnight shipping. They arrived today and the boys were so excited. Gavin got Batman (notice they match his Underoos) and Zachary got Thomas the Train.
They wanted to wear them to bed and since they're brand new, we happily agreed.
Tonight Gabby is sleeping in one of the onsies that I embroidered for her this afternoon.

It's fun turning $2 onsies into personalized pjs. The only problem is not knowing a Gabby to pass them all down to.
I've been catching up on embroidering lately and mailing some of the things that I made months ago. I'm "postally challenged" to say the least. However, I'm proud to say that I actually made it to the post office twice this week (This is a huge accomplishment for me... especially with three kids in tow!)

I hope to blog again without letting a whole week pass.
Meanwhile I'm wishing you a wonderful weekend!

Back to Planet Earth.....

We just completed a week of Vacation Bible School. This year our church used a space theme called "Cosmic City" where the kids explored the awesome wonders of God. The kids were all little astronauts.
They had a great time and to top it off a representative from N.A.S.A. came to our final program this afternoon and gave the kids some cool goodies.
First of all I have to display my "official " certification for leading these little astronauts around this week. Prior to being a stay-at-home mom, I actually had a job. Believe it or not, I completed a series of training to provide trauma care to astronauts. I worked as an O.R. nurse at the closest level One Trauma Center to the Space Center so this was actually mandatory training for some of us. Our training even involved learning how to remove an astronaut's space suit.
Fortunately during VBS none of our little astronauts needed trauma care, however there were quite a few stomach bugs going around.
Here is a picture of one of my training certificates. I thought you might find it good to know that such training does exist.
Amanda and I worked together which was a lot a fun. Here she is pointing to the glue in Gavin's hair.
Here's a few pictures of my little astronauts

The "moon walk" was a huge hit with the kids during our free play time.
They also enjoyed the water tables.
This is a picture from story time where some of the kids are acting out a bible story.

Afterwards they prayed together. A child's head bowed in prayer is always a precious picture...
So here's a few more..
.
Craft time was lead by one of the 3 year old preschool teachers. Zach and Laura are going to be in her class next year so it was great for them to be able to spend some time with her during VBS.
We also had science time where we did some experiments. I couldn't resist posting the one below. This is what happens when you put Mentos candy in a 2 liter of Diet Coke. It was hard to watch a 2 liter of my absolute favorite drink go to waste.

Each day started and ended in the gym with the theme song. The song is still running through my head non-stop, but the kids really enjoyed singing and dancing around.

The kids brought in change each day for a local children's charity and the boys and girls competed to see who could bring in the most. A few of our pastors represented each team and the pastor with the losing team was supposed to get slimed. The girls won, but for some reason they both ended up getting slimed with about a dozen different pitchers of various food items. It was pretty disgusting, but the kids sure enjoyed watching.

Gabby stayed in the nursery with Ms. Mary and Ms. Cindy each day. She had a lot of attention since there were only one or two babies in there. Since we go to church and MOPS there I know she felt right at home, but I couldn't help missing her. Here is a picture I took of her when I went to check on her.

Happy Birthday, Savannah!!!

An example of awesome marketing....

We've been watching some old Popeye cartoons lately so on a recent trip to the grocery store Gavin spotted this can of spinach from several feet away.
Of course he wanted it and how could I say no to a kid who wanted spinach. It's now their favorite afternoon snack. Strange, I know, but I'm not complaining!

I haven't tried giving it to Gabby, but she does love black beans. I don't dare give her too many, but if I did I'm sure she'd eat every one of them.
